Kali Puja :- Maa Kali is one of the nine forms of Durga Maa. This form of Kali Maa is so scary that some people get scared after seeing it. Whereas the truth is that both charity and punishment are available in the court of Kali Maa. You can get her blessings by pleasing the mother with Kali Puja. It is believed that worshiping Maa Kali on the new moon day of Krishna Paksha of Kartik month gives special accomplishment. For this reason, people worship Maa Kali on this day to prove their desires. Kali Mata Puja is mainly performed in West Bengal, Orissa, and Assam. People here believe that worshiping Maa Kali on this day gives special accomplishments and the blessings of Maa Kali last forever.

Mother Kali is the most important goddess of the Shakti sect, just as Shiva is the ruler of the destruction, in the same way, the presiding deity of the destruction is Goddess Kali.  At the time of the killing of Shumbha-Nishumbha, a sharp beam had come out from the body of the mother. As a result, her complexion turned black, and since that day she was called Kali. Worshiping them leads to the destruction of fear, attainment of health, self-defense, and control of enemies. By worshiping them, all the effects of the tantra mantra end. Night time is the appropriate time to worship Maa Kali. Worship of Kali Mata is infallible for the peace of sin planets, especially Shani, Ketu, and Rahu.

Why do Kali Puja?:-

In spite of killing all the demons anger of Mata Kali did not subside and the world also started burning due to this anger of Mother Kali. After which Lord Shiva lay down into her feet, and after her leg touched to Lord Shiva her anger also subsided. In memory of this, the worship of her calm form Lakshmi started, while on this night the law of worshiping her fierce form Kali is also in some states. It is said that by worshiping Kali, problems are solved immediately.

Importance of Kali Puja:-

To destroy the wicked and sinners, Goddess Durga had incarnated as Maa Kali. It is believed that by worshiping Maa Kali with reverence, all the miseries of life end miraculously. Enemies are destroyed. It is said that by worshiping Maa Kali, Rahu, and Ketu sitting in the horoscope also get pacified. Mother makes those who worship Mata Kali, fearless and happy in all respects. Fear ends by worshiping Kali. Diseases are freed by their worship. The Kali Mata always with their devotees and ready to protects her devotees and she also destroys their enemies. It is also believed that by worshiping Kali Mata, the effect of tantra-mantra done by someone gets ended soon.


Kali Puja Date in 2021:-

On the occasion of this festival, we have seen an official holiday in a few of the states in India. According to the Hindu Panchang, the Kali Puja date is falling on 04th November 2021.


Kali Puja Material:-

Incense sticks, Dhup, flowers, black urad dal, Ganga water, turmeric, Havan material, Kalash, camphor, kumkum, coconut, desi ghee, rice, betel nut, conch shell, Purnapattra, Niranjan, lighter, small and thin for burning wood Materials like wood, bell, jaggery, red, yellow color for Rangoli, cotton balls, etc. are used in this worship.


Kali Puja Vidhi:-

Maa Kali is worshiped in two ways, one is normal and the other is Tantra worship. Anyone can do normal worship, but tantra worship cannot be done without the protection and instruction of the guru. The most suitable time to worship Maa Kali is in the middle of the night. Here below we have mentioned both the Kali Puja Vidhi.


Normal Kali Puja Vidhi – There is a tradition of offering 108 hibiscus flowers, 108 bel-patras and garlands, 108 earthen lamps, and 108 Durva especially in the general worship of Mata Kali. Along with this, seasonal fruits, sweets, khichdi, kheer, fried vegetables, and other delicacies are also offered to the mother. In this method of worship, fasting from morning and night includes Bhog, Homa-havan and Pushpanjali etc.


Tantra Kali Puja Vidhi –: Maa Kali is worshiped in most of the places by Tantra practice, and here below we have given the details of Tantra Puja which is done with Kali Puja Mantra.


Kali Puja Mantra – 

ओम ऐं ह्रीं क्लीं चामुण्डायै विच्चै

Maa Kali’s mantra “ओम ऐं ह्रीं क्लीं चामुण्डायै विच्चै’ is considered very powerful. Each of its letters has the ability to control the planets. It is believed that by chanting Kali Puja Mantra daily, Maa Kali gets happy and she removes the sufferings of her devotees. Chanting the above-given mantra 108 times daily gives financial benefits and removes financial-related problems in life.

Kali Puja Vidhi on Diwali:-

  1. On the day of Diwali, Maa Kali is worshiped at midnight. Therefore, after taking bath, wear clean clothes and only then worship Maa Kali.
  2. After this, take a clean post, sprinkle Gangajal on it and spread a red cloth on it, and install the idol or picture of Maa Kali.
  3. After establishing the idol of Mother Kali, offer her clothes, makeup, fruits, flowers, garlands, etc., and worship her duly by lighting an oil lamp.
  4. After this listen and read the story of Maa Kali. After reading the story, do the aarti from the incense and lamp of Mother Kali.
  5. In the end, offer sweets to Maa Kali and apologize to her for any mistake done in worship.

Kali Puja Background (History):-

According to the legend, once a demon named Daruk, having pleased Brahma Ji, after obtaining a boon from him, started torturing the gods and brahmins and occupied the heavenly world. After which all the gods went to Lord Vishnu and Brahma Ji. Brahma Ji told all the deities that only a woman can destroy this wicked. After which all the gods went to Lord Shiva and he told everything to Lord Shiva. After which Lord Shiva looked at Mother Parvati and she smiled at this and poured a part of her into Lord Shiva, after which that part assumed its shape from the poison from the throat of Lord Shiva.

After which Lord Shiva opened his third eye. From this eye, mother Kali was born with a formidable form. Mother Kali had the third eye and the moon line in her forehead. Seeing the fierce and huge form of Maa Kali, the gods and the perfect people started running away. After which there was a fierce battle between Mother Kali and the demon, Mother Kali killed everyone. But the anger of Mother Kali did not subside and the world also started burning due to this anger of Mother Kali. After which Lord Shiva lay down into her feet, and after her leg touched to Lord Shiva her anger also subsided.
