It is said that during the Roman Empire in about 270 AD, a king named Claudius Gothicus II reigned. Claudius wanted to make his empire a world power and with the aim of making his empire a world power, Claudius issued a strange decree. Claudius believed that marriage destroys the intellectual and physical power of a man, because of his thinking, he issued an order in the whole state that no soldier or officer would marry in his kingdom for this reason. Those who do not follow the order will be punished severely.

This decree of Claudius caused an outcry in the whole of Rome, the soldiers knew that the decision taken by the king was wrong, but due to the fear of the king, no soldier had the courage to violate this rule, finally, the soldiers were forced. There was a saint in Rome named Valentine, who, opposing Claudius, inspired people to marry and he started making the marriage of young soldiers, hiding from the king. But it has been said that the truth does not hide for long, finally one day the king came to know about this and sentenced Saint Valentine to death, during which he was put in prison.

Saint Valentine was waiting for his death in prison that suddenly one day a jailer named Astreus came to him because the people of Rome believed that Saint Valentine had such a divine power that he could cure people from any disease. Astrius had a daughter who was completely blind, and so Astrius went to Valentine and begged him to restore his daughter’s eyesight with his divine power.

Since Valentine was a kind-hearted person, he also cured the eyes of the jailer’s daughter with his power. During this, there was a deep friendship between Astrius’ daughter and Valentine, and when it turned into love, both of them did not know. Finally the day (14 February) arrived, the day Valentine was to be hanged, the daughter of Astrius was deeply shocked to hear the news of Valentine’s death.
