History of Ganesh Visarjan:-
Often there is a question in people’s minds that why Ganapati immersion is done. Actually, there are religious beliefs behind Ganpati Visarjan. According to religious beliefs, it is believed that after narrating the story of Mahabharata to Lord Ganesha, Maharishi Ved Vyas immersed them in the lake to calm him down, because Maharishi Ved Vyas continued to narrate the story to Ganapati for 10 consecutive days.
On the other hand, Lord Ganpati kept writing the story. Finally, when the story was completed and Ved Vyas opened his eyes, he found that due to extremely hard work, the temperature of Lord Ganesha has increased. After this, Ved Vyas took Lord Ganesha to the lake to take a bath with the aim of reducing his temperature. That day was Anant Chaturdashi and since then the tradition of immersing Ganapati idol started.
